Saint Jane On Fire: This Nascent CBD Brand Burns Bright in the Ultra Competitive Beauty World
We caught up with Casey Georgeson, Founder & CEO of SAINT JANE. At just nine months young, this brand has consistently racked up accolades since its’ launch including one of the best luxury skincare products of 2019 by The Zoe Report and awarded an Indie 65 by their peers at CEW. At The 420: A CBD Store, we are nothing less than obsessed with all Saint Jane products from the ultra lush skin serum, which we have watched transform our co-workers eczema plagued complexion, to the body serum and lip gloss.
What is the origin story of the Saint Jane line?
As a brand creator in the wine and beauty industries for many years, I always knew I wanted to start my own one day. But it wasn’t until California legalized cannabis that I was passionate enough to actually take the leap. I discovered CBD as a very powerful molecule with so much potential, particularly for the skin, but saw that there weren’t many brands using it in a beautifully formulated way. We created Saint Jane because we wanted to honor the extraordinary benefits of CBD, and formulate effective, powerful, plant-based products that furthered CBD’s wellness mission.
The packaging is gorgeous and embodies luxury. Can you tell us a little about your inspiration?
My aesthetic for Saint Jane has been by far the clearest brand vision I’ve ever had. And I think that’s because the brand is very reflective of who I am and what I love. I wanted our Luxury Beauty Serum packaging to embody what I hoped the serum would make women feel… strong, confident and feminine. I aimed to create something special, like a beautiful fragrance bottle on your vanity to elevate your daily routine.
What are some of your favorite skin products?
Because I worked at Sephora for many years, I have a bad habit of constantly trying out and testing new products. I love high % vitamin C products, ultra-rich night creams and daily moisturizers that fill my fine lines. I remember 20 years ago, Kate Moss once said you can never have too much moisturizer, so true!
What are some of your do’s and don’ts when it comes to skincare?
Always wear SPF no matter what, and make sure you know what you’re putting on your skin. Our skin soaks up way more than what people think, so read the ingredients, get recommendations from people you trust and take the time to research and educate yourself on what your skin needs. We love your style.
What is your favorite piece of clothing?
I have to say I’m pretty inspired by our SJ florals at the moment, so probably anyone of my brightly colored floral dresses.
Mumford & Sons…Their concerts are like a religious experience. Also, Dave Matthews Band since they were the soundtrack of high school, college and every day since.
The Alchemist by Paolo Coehlo. It’s a story about following your heart and trusting your journey. It’s also about overcoming.
When Harry Met Sally. I’ve probably seen it 100 times. I love how Sally always changed every item on the menu when she ordered. “I’d like the pie heated, and I don’t want the ice cream on top, I want it on the side. And I’d like strawberry instead of vanilla if you have it. If not, then no ice cream just whipped cream, but only if it’s real. If it’s out of a can, then nothing.” I also lived in the West Village in NYC for years and miss it every day.
